Wow, The Hollywood Group program really is LEGIT. I have to admit I had my doubts at first and being a single mom, I was scared of being scammed. But, I invested in the program and I am so glad I did. My daughter, Maya Nicole Smith and I joined The Hollywood Group eight months ago and everything has happened so quickly. I can hardly catch my breath!
Thanks to the advice from Kiara Raydan, our Talent Coordinator, I signed Maya up for background work with Kids Management. She was called for 90210 and actually did background work for a show called The Castle on ABC.
As my daughter worked on the set, I met other parents who were complaining about how much money they spent on photos and acting classes, etc. I had a big smile on my face knowing I had spent much less on those same things. I felt prepared and exposed to the best resources in town. I actually learned a thing or two from the Business of Acting class for parents.
Maya played Carlista (AKA Ke-Ke), the niece of actor Faizon Love on My Name is Earl. The Director and Producer commented that Maya did a great job and the Assistant Director thought Maya was very professional as she took direction so well.
Maya did background work on Nip/Tuck and I was also asked to stand in as a woman visiting her boyfriend! The scene was at a prison and I played a woman who was visiting her boyfriend. It was a great experience for me.
She has booked these roles and we don’t even have an agent!
Most of all, I am pleased to see how confident Maya has become from taking acting classes. She holds her head up high; she is very excited and has become even more creative.
Maya had a big smile when she saw her first check! She loves every aspect of it. She has a blast mingling on the set. It’s been exciting for her to go shopping with the wardrobe staff. She enjoys getting dressed up in the trailer and putting on new clothes. The thing she loves most is the food that’s on the set. I don’t think Maya understands she’s working yet . . . lol.
We are having so much fun. I am glad I said “Yes” to Kiara Raydan and the Hollywood Group team!
