Skylan Brooks is the one to meet! Skylan was born February 12th, 1999 in Torrance California. He attends View Park Preparatory Accelerated Charter School in Los Angeles where he has maintained a GPA of 4.0 since Kindergarten. Skylan enjoys church, making friends, video games, and being a practical joker as well as playing basketball.
Skylan has also developed a passion for acting, dancing and modeling. On his first competition ever with no experience, he won 1st place in the Talent Competition and 1st place in Modeling in a competition held by Glamour Pageant in California. He joined The Hollywood Group in January, 2006; this is where he enjoyed his first experience with acting lessons. Since then he has performed in several school and church plays, recorded his 1st CD (demo) singing a song he wrote and co-produced, appeared in dance videos and, signed with his first agent in 2007. Skylan has been cast in various projects including as a supporting actor in a film called How I Believe in Heaven by Academy award winning producer of the West Bank Story. He was considered for a lead role in the upcoming film College Road Trip staring Martin Lawrence and Raven Symone. He landed his first principal role in a Honda Spada commercial that will be airing in Japan; soon after he landed a role in a National Kool-Aid commercial now airing. These are just a few of our energetic 9 year old accomplishments.
Skylan’s first agent was from Impact Talent Group, but the agency later on went out of business to focus on management. As a father, I kept him on LA Casting and Actors Access. I continued to submit him on as many non-union commercial and film projects as possible. After a while, he kept landing one role after another. I took a few more classes as a parent from the Hollywood Group as well as put him in different classes to keep him sharp. He continues taking acting lessons and now is represented by Heather Baldwin at Youth Talent Connection.
