Aldrin joined Hollywood Group last August 2007. He has done background work in the TV shows Nip/Tuck, October Road and Cory in the House as well as the upcoming comedy movie Playboys. Additionally, he did commercial extra for Kaplan University.
As newcomer, I absolutely have no experience in the entertainment business. I have relied solely on the Hollywood Group program, it showed me step by step on how to proceed with my son’s acting career. I started locally and registered him online at Background San Diego and Tina Real Casting. Only a week after I signed him up, Tina booked him for Kaplan University commercial to be aired in Florida. My husband and I took him to the production location. Since it is his first work, we were all excited. We experienced the feeling of being in the set. He was so happy; he made $100 for two hours work, sitting in a school bus. Overall it was a great experience for the three of us.
Then we registered him with KBT. Two weeks after that, Aldrin got his first TV background work on Nip/Tuck. The location was at Paramount Pictures. Aldrin and I had the opportunity to be part of the Christmas scene. Working with my son is something I would treasure for life. We both had a blast and got paid for having fun.
The second TV show - October Road, Aldrin played one of the Spelling Bee contestants. He is having so much fun and meeting new friends. He earned his first SAG voucher in the show.
The third TV show is Cory in the House, shown on Disney channel. Aldrin earned his first AFTRA voucher. Aldrin was one of Sophie’s classmates in the scene.
Aldrin’s first movie background work is the upcoming comedy movie Playboys. KBT booked 35 kids for the movie. The actors we saw in the scene he participated were Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore from The Whitest Kids U’Know.
Aldrin learned a lot from his acting workshops and his background work. He attended all six workshops from Gray Studios and Little Red Door. I’ve never seen such an excitement from my son even attending workshops.
