Joshua has been a member of the Hollywood Group since August 2005. He has done background work in the TV shows Ghost Whisperer and What About Brian as well as the upcoming movie Say Hello to Stan Talmadge starring Gary Cole and Jennifer Coolidge. Additionally, he was recently picture picked for background work in a Goodyear commercial.
On Ghost Whisperer, Joshua and his sister Rachel were picked to play foster kids. For the shoot they had to play like they normally do. This episode has since aired; we could clearly tell it was Joshua and Rachel. Imagine getting paid to have fun with your sister!
However, Joshua’s biggest job so far was on HBO’s show Big Love. Joshua was picture picked for what was proclaimed a special scene in this series. Three other kids showed up on set for this part. First they met the directors of the show and then the writers. After waiting in the trailer for a while, the Assistant Director came up and said Joshua was picked. We went to wardrobe and there Joshua met Bill Paxton. Later as they were shooting the scene the Director approached us and asked if it was ok to give Joshua a speaking part. As Joshua had a speaking part in this series, it made him eligible for SAG. He had a call back for Big Love and as he was considered a principle, he had his own trailer for the second shoot.
Joshua had a great time working on the set. He blended in well and talked a lot with the other actors including Bill Paxton, Matt Ross and Harry Dean Stanton. Joshua hung out with everyone and talked to them. To him, they were just other grown ups not stars.
Thanks to the Kids Management Background Talent and the Hollywood Group Joshua has had fun playing many roles while adding to his Coogan account to save for college. He also got to spend a little of the money he earned-he bought The Star Wars Legos and Mutant Ninja Turtles for his Playstation 2.
