Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it! My son had “the worst” possible “audition” at your open call day back in August, but you called him back! After meeting with you and discussing it as a family, we signed up with the Hollywood Group. He immediately began his classes and completed them by the end of September. He then signed up with Kids Background in LA and Tina Real in San Diego and was called to do his first background job within the first week! He did “Little Big Men” with Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott at Universal Studios. It was incredibly exciting!
It’s been an amazing roller coaster ride! I went to both the parent workshops and learned a ton of information. Everyone parent should take advantage of these workshops and learn from the experienced actors/teachers who present them. It’s a good thing because during the month of October, Ryan did his showcase in Los Angeles and as a result, got himself a management company through Little Red Door Entertainment and a Theatrical and Commercial agent with the Savage Agency - yes this is Ben and Fred’s mom. To think this adventure only began at the end of August!
We met with quite a few agents who really liked him at the Showcase. It was very interesting going to their offices and seeing them in their Hollywood environment. The one thing they all had in common was their emphasis on continued training. We took this to heart and Ryan has continued his education through Lorena Mena and Olivia Allen of Little Red Door Entertainment – you might know them through the classes they present. He attended several weekend trainings on advanced audition techniques. He really enjoyed these classes and learned a lot.
Since then he’s done a Union Bay audition, got a print agent through KSA Models and met with a great photographer who did his ZED cards and headshots. Our heads are spinning, but we are so excited. If Valerie hadn’t “discovered” Ryan in the Walmart parking lot in La Mesa, none of this would be happening.
We thank Hollywood Group for this great opportunity and adventure - it’s been an amazing 4 months. Ryan is having a blast and we are excited about what the future will bring. Obviously, we will keep you posted.
