KID OF THE MONTH

February '05 - Austin Butler & Nevin Valles

It began like countless other summer days. My sons Nevin and Austin were having a great time attending The Orange County Fair. Suddenly, they were approached by a talent scout from StudioKidz and promptly invited to screen test in Beverly Hills. Without hesitation, we made the 90 mile round trip to meet with Marla Alexander of The Hollywood Group. She has such a big heart and wanted my kids to succeed. My wife and I became enamored with Marla’s colorful personality and she has since become a good friend of the family.

Before my wife and I knew it, our boys were taking these great workshops with Chris Apodaca and Chris Vaughn. They really learned a lot and they seem happier and more confident. We also completed tasks like picture taking, obtaining work permits and Coogan accounts and signing up with Kids Background Talent.

Before long, both Nevin and Austin were getting bombarded with calls for background work. Some of their recent credits include shows like Judging Amy, Summerland, Mad TV, and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. They also attended a recent ScoutServe agent showcase where Nevin impressed not one, not two, but three different agencies. AKA, Abrams Artists, and Commercials Unlimited were all vying for his attention. We visited all three firms, but ended up gravitating towards Paul Williams of Commercials Unlimited. Nevin seems very happy with his choice. Quite a lot has changed for my sons in the last five months. All the changes have been positive and very fulfilling. We owe it all to the Hollywood Group and Marla Alexander. Thank you so much for believing in my sons and my family.

Sincerely, Harvey Valles
